PERKESO’s LINDUNG 24 Jam scheme now optional

LINDUNG 24 Jam or SKBBK is introduced to provide round-the-clock protection for eligible employees throughout their employment period . This coverage includes any accidents that occur outside of working hours and are not directly related to their job of duties

As Announced by the government spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil , while the scheme the contribution rates and the phase remains the same . Contribution of 0.75% of an employee’s salary will now be voluntary.

“The Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) raised the feedback received regarding the implementation of the 0.75% contribution from employees’ salaries for PERKESO’s Lindung 24 Jam scheme.

The Cabinet has decided that the contribution will no longer be mandatory but instead be implemented on a voluntary basis, effective immediately.

Contribution Rate:

Contributions are fully borne by employees. Employee contribution rates will be implemented in phases:

• 0.75% for the first two years (Phase 1),
• 1.0% for the next three years (Phase 2),
• 1.25% from the sixth year onwards (Phase 3)

Type of Contribution:

• Voluntary and fully borne by local employees, but remains mandatory for foreign workers and will continue to be implemented in accordance with existing legal provisions.
• Employers shall pay contributions on behalf of employees for as long as the employee remains employed with them.

Excluded Cases:

• Accidents happening outside the territory of Malaysia
• Insured Persons (OB) who are foreign workers that misuse valid passes or permits issued by the Director General of Immigration or violate any conditions of entry under the Immigration Act 1959 / 63 [Act 155].
• Self-employment injuries under Act 789.
• Domestic injuries under Act 838.
• Conditions caused by any illness such as diabetes, fever, high blood pressure, and others.
